Description
I had a CDL licence, wasn't sure of what I wanted to do. I'd been with Steven's transport, left them; got together w/this guy in Alaska, got back to the lower 48, and went to Sioux Falls SD, to work w/Quasar Express/Heyl trucking. The guy I was with, was of questionable character.
He was trying to teach me about logs, I am little slow, so it was taxing his patience. We were on our way to Virginia, on I-95, at the Pipp truck stop. We had reached our limits with each other, and I told him I quit him! He and the dispatch took that to mean I quit! (Which is not what I meant, but dispatch and the owner took it that way), and by the time I got off the phone, my "trainer" was on his way out in the truck; he just dumped me there!
I was beside myself; I called dispatch, and they said to get back to Siouxfalls the best way I could (I didn't have any money and they didn't give me any more money)! Man, I was beside myself I was worried about 5 minutes.
Then the Holy Spirit impressed upon me, "Don't worry, I will take care of everything, just don't worry".
I sat around about an hour wondering what I was going to do; next, the Holy Spirit impressed upon me to talk to this man who was on the phone to his dispatch. (found out he was a carhauler)He asked me if I was alright, and I told him my story; he told me that was not a company worth working, and asked what I intended to do.
Decided I wanted to go home; the guy got on his CB and called around to see if someone could give me a ride; about 20 minutes later, this crackly voice came over "Where's that guy needing a ride?"
Asked where he was, he said, over here to your left-looked to the left and there was this young guy driving a Digby truck (about 25 years old). He wanted to see my CDL, then we were off and running! Before we left the car hauler driver flipped me a $20, and said to pass it along, if I ever had the chance!
From there went to Texas, got a ride to Kansas City, then from there into Denver. Was hitch hiking down hyw 85, got a ride to Longmont, spent the night on a park bbench; next day caught a ride into Loveland.
Friends took me to a shelter in Ft. Collins, and a month later had a job and a room!
All this happened because of trust in Christ! Jesus will get you through anything-just simple trust!
